Topton & Berks County HVAC & Plumbing Contractors

A Father, a Son, and 70+ Years in the Trade

When your heat fails in January or a pipe bursts, you need a local expert, not a distant call center. F&H, a father-son team with 45 years of experience from Bob and 25 from Logan, serves Kutztown, Fleetwood, the Lehigh Valley, and nearby areas. We assess the repair and provide a clear, free quote.

Heating, Cooling, and Plumbing Under One Roof

Two clean service families, HVAC and Plumbing. Each one covers the full range of what a homeowner or contractor needs, handled by the same two people from first call to final check.

From installing new water lines to undertaking full bathroom or kitchen remodels, we do bigger plumbing work right.

Why Homeowners Keep Calling Bob and Logan

F&H has been doing heating, cooling, and plumbing work since 1980, and the same family still runs it today. We are licensed, bonded, and insured in Pennsylvania.

Rooted in Topton Since 1980

Bob Habermehl went out on his own in 1980, back during the energy crisis when gas was being rationed and folks just needed heat they could count on. The F and the H come from Bob and his first partner, Featheroff. More than forty years later, the name still means the same thing it always has.

Today F&H is a father-and-son operation. Bob built it, and his son Logan grew up in the trade and now runs the work right alongside him. Between them they bring decades of hands-on heating, cooling, and plumbing experience across Berks and Lehigh counties

We fix before we replace. If your system can be saved, we will tell you. If it cannot, we will tell you. No pressure, just good HVAC & plumbing work!

Thinking About Switching From Oil?

Many older homes around here still run on oil. When it’s time to replace, the three upgrade paths we install are high-efficiency gas, a heat pump, or geothermal. The right call comes down to your home, your fuel access, and your budget. Here’s an honest look at how they compare.

Efficiency figures reflect general ENERGY STAR and U.S. Department of Energy guidance, not a quote for your home.

High-efficiency gas furnaces and boilers can achieve 90% AFUE or more, meaning most of your fuel converts to heat, according to ENERGY STAR. Heating and cooling make up nearly half of a home’s energy use, so choosing the right system is crucial.

Questions We Hear a Lot

Plain answers from a father-and-son team that repairs first and explains the options before you spend money.

Do you repair systems, or do you only sell new ones?

We repair first whenever it makes sense. A lot of problems come down to one worn part, not a whole new system. We will look at what you have, tell you honestly whether a repair will hold, and only recommend replacement when it is the better long-term call.

Yes. If your heat or AC goes out, call us and we will help as soon as we can during business hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. We are a local father-and-son team, so you reach Bob or Logan directly rather than a dispatch line.

It comes down to age, repair cost, and efficiency. Newer high-efficiency gas boilers can reach 90% AFUE or higher, compared with much lower numbers on older units, according to ENERGY STAR. We will walk the math with you before you decide.

Yes. We do heating, cooling, and plumbing with the same team, which is a real advantage on remodels and new construction where the trades overlap. One company, one point of contact, for the whole job.

A well-maintained gas furnace or boiler often runs 15 to 20 years or more, according to guidance from the U.S. Department of Energy. Regular service helps you get the full life out of the equipment you paid for.
